Private Michael Horrigan

Michael Horrigan (also spelled Harrigan) of New Haven enlisted in the Ninth’s Co F on January 14, 1864 as a Private. He died July 29, 1865 and is buried at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC. 

The original interments in this national cemetery were men who died in nearby Union hospitals during the occupation and were initially buried in one of several places including Hilton Head, SC. In May of 1865 the Ninth was ordered to Hilton Head where it was mustered out during the first week in August 1865, and thereupon returned to New Haven.
